It has been a roller coaster of a ride the last few days with Sadie. I guess I will start at the beginning............Last Tuesday night before we went to bed we called for Sadie to come in. He didn't come so we went out and looked for him. He was nowhere to be found so after about an hour we decided to let him stay out.(since he had done this once before) We left our bedroom window open so we could here him when he came back. He never came back and we looked everywhere for him. We put up signs all over and kept looking. Every morning we would come downstairs expecting to see him at our back door. Saturday morning we were up early for my race and as Sean opened Cierra and Brooke's window her heard meowing. He tore downstairs to find him on our back porch. We were all so excited, we couldn't believe he had come back. It was so exciting to see the kids so happy. As we watched him for a few minutes, we could tell he was hurt. We had Kaylee stay home with him while we went to my race and then took him right in to the vet. We had to leave him there because they had to take x-rays to see what was going on. I got a call about an hour later that ended all happiness. Sadie had been hit by a car and had broken his back left leg-hip in 5 different places. He let us know that it probably happened the first day or so that he was missing and he was probably trying to get back to us the whole time. It breaks my heart to know he was in all that pain. He couldn't even sit for more than a minute without trying to move to get comfortable again. We had to make a decision that was not easy, but we will always remember Sadie. He was the best cat ever and we have many funny stories about him in the year that we had him. I didn't realize how attached you could get to a pet until you no longer have that pet anymore. The kids were devastated and I think I cried for a good 2 hours. Sean was upset as well, even though he hates pets. That has now changed and after we are done mourning dear Sadie we will get a new kitten. So, that has been our roller coaster of a ride with our downs and ups and our back down again.
We miss you Sadie!

Oh Jodi! That is so sad! I'm so sorry. This is one reason we keep our cats inside. I can't bear the idea of losing them because they really do become part of the family. It's really amazing how quickly you become attached and love them instantly. A new kitty will definitely heal your heart.
:( :( :(
those are some great pictures of your cat. I love the one with brooke doing some coloring and the cat laying by her. Oh and the twister one. hehe. sorry for your family lose
So sorry for your loss. :(
Kelley's cat just had a litter of five, if you're interested...
so sorry to hear about your kitty! esp after just a year & to be in an accident:( my parents' cat is 14 y.o. & i dread that choice for them even though it's inevitably going to happen sooner than later-never prep to part with loved one even if 4-legged variety...& i'm not a pet person either, but something about your own!
