Leavenworth Half Marathon

Another great weekend to Leavenworth! We all had a great time. We stated off by eating dinner at a great Italian restaurant in Leavenworth. It was delicious!

Anna, Carrie, and Lisa
Tasha and I!

Just before the race. Anna, of course was the only one not running but she was a great support system for all of us. Thanks Anna!

My hands were cold when we started but they were torn off at mile 3 along with my long sleeve shirt. It was a tad chilly but once we started running it was very warm and it was so beautiful!

And we are off!!!

I'm in the back barely getting my head in the picture.

Starting to strip because of the heat:

Passing it off to Anna:

Anna cheering us on! There was 6 of us total: Me, Lisa, Tasha, Carrie, Beckie, and Tara.

This was at mile 7, I think and I was feeling good!

We all finished and got our sweatshirts and metals. I had a little incident at the finish line that involved a paramedic but after checking my blood pressure and my blood sugar and signing a refusal to go to the hospital, I was on my way!:)

We came back and got showered and hit the town.

Beckie, Anna, Lisa, Me, Carrie, Tasha and Tara

The friendly goat we always see every year!

Lunch at Gustav's!

We had fun in the hat shop!

I looked up my times for all my half marathons to compare and by no means am I fast but I am slowly improving. I hope to one day to finish in 1:59:59.
My first half in October of 2007 I did in 2:32:13, my second in October 2008 I did in 2:29:30, My third in June 2009 I did in 2:24:40 and this one was 2:15:32. I:m getting a little faster each time!
Thanks to my supportive parents that followed me around like the paparazzi and took pictures. (Once I get their pictures, I just may post more.) It was great to have them there especially when I went down for a few minutes at the finish line. I love you both. You don't even know what it means to me to have you here at these events in my life! Your awesome!

Life is busy so here is our life lately!

Cierra turned 8 this month and is so excited to get Baptized. My friend Amy made up these cute invitations for her Baptism. She also took the picture. She has a photography business and does great work. Check out her website here:http://www.heartprintsphotography.com/

Sock's and Ditto are continuing to grow and they have been a lot of fun. It is fun to have two so they can play with each other. They are really good kittens and we are all loving them. Brooke may be loving them a little too much but they don't seem to mind.

Brooke and Sock's fell asleep in the sun on the living room floor. It was so cute!:)

Just in case you run out of cereal we may have a box you can borrow. What can I say? You have to stock up when it is on sale and I got a screamin deal!

Kaylee started volleyball this month. She is loving it and wants to practice all the time. It's fun to bump the ball around with her.

Last weekend I ran in the Run Wild race at Northwest Trek. It was a 8k and I got poured on. Oh well, that's happens when you live in Washington. It was a lot of fun anyways and I wound a gift card for Fleet feet and got to go buy a new pair of shoes. I bought the exact pair I had because I loved them and they fit so well. Like the saleslady said, Don't fix it if it ain't broke! My shoes had about 300 too many miles on them so I was glad to get a new pair. My sister ran the 5k, which was her first race and she did awesome. I was so proud of the big accomplishment that she achieved and I can't wait for the day we can run a half marathon together. Speaking of half marathons, I am heading to Leavenworth this weekend for the annual half marathon that I have done for 3 years. Looking forward to getting away for a weekend. I also am going to be running my first full marathon and although it is going to be a lot of work, I am so excited to do it. It isn't until June 5th so I have a little while to get ready for it.

Brooke had her harvest day at preschool and had a blast going through Mrs. Spencer's garden and finding all the vegetables. We cooked most of it up and Brooke ate it.

And the big news for September is that Sean went to Dallas for the opening game in the Cowboys Stadium. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for him and he had an amazing time even though the Cowboys lost. The whole experience was awesome and I am so glad he got to go. You can go on his facebook to see many many more pictures!

This was just a little portion of the crazy month we have had so far! Can't wait until October comes!

Cierra's 8th Birthday Slumber Party!

Cierra had her 8th birthday party last Friday and surprisingly with 11 8 year olds, it went really well. There was no drama and everyone seemed to have a great time.

The trampoline was the gathering place for eating, opening presents and of course, jumping!!!

Kaylee and her friend Ashley were a big help. They planned a scavenger hunt and they went throughout the neighborhood looking for the items that Kaylee had written down. It was fun to see them race back to see who would win.

They were tired afterwards!

We did a water balloon toss for a prize and only a few girls got wet.

Who could keep the balloon up in the air the longest??? This took a long time. They all did really well.

Present time!

Cierra really wanted the dirt cupcakes with the gummy worms on top. So we made 36 cupcakes. Enough for her to take to her class and enough for her party!

We played the famous game where you try to unwrap a box that is taped up really good with only a spatula. Whoever got it open got the fun prize inside.

When you rolled the dice and you got the number you needed you would have to put on the apron and the hat and then start trying until the next girl got the number.

Maegan was working hard to get the prize.

Kaylee and Ashley set up a spa where you got a massage, and your hair and nails done, The girls really loved this part of the party!

And finally they all settled down to watch the Hannah Montana Movie!

It was a long night but totally worth it. Cierra had a ball and I was so glad she got to finally have her sleepover she has been waiting so patiently for.

On a side note: Connor had his first soccer game on Saturday. He did well and even scored a goal, unfortunately the other team was pretty good and they lost 8-2.
