Field Day 2011 for Cierra and Brooke

Two different days and two different schools but they were both so much fun and I was glad to be a part of it! Cierra had the nicer day and had some really fun things to do. I was in charge of the obstacle bounce house which Brooke loved, since she got to go on it over and over as we waited for the classes to come out.

Cierra, Maegan and Phoebe waiting in line for it.

Brooke did the "Olympics Field Day" and had a lot of fun. It was a tad bit chilly but both Sean and I got to go see her do her events and it was fun. She participated in the long jump, the 100 yard dash and one other one that I just can't remember.

Brooke and two of her friends in her class.

Brooke thought it was a lot of fun, but Mrs. Bronoske was not there because she was having her baby and Brooke really missed her. She doesn't like change although she did really like the sub the had for the last week of school.

School is out for the summer and we are really enjoying the time off. We will go to Wild Waves weekly( Sean is off this week so he gets to come with us on Friday), go to Banks Lake, go to Silverwood and Kaylee and I get to go to Girls Camp! Before we know it, the summer will be over and school will start again!

Connor's 6th Grade Graduation

Connor survived Elementary school! I can't believe it! Wahoo! He is off to Junior High. I can't believe I have two kids in Junior High. Where did time go? Connor is actually a great kid. He hardly ever gets in trouble and his grades are good. Connor is very polite and is always telling me thank you. It's really sweet!

This is him getting his certificate of graduation from the principal, Mrs. Krause. His teacher Mr. Wells is there as well.(He had Mr. Wells in 3rd and 6th grade. Connor thought that was pretty cool!)

Don't tell anyone but I need to note this so I can say I told you so to Conor when he gets married. Connor and Ellie have been friends and in the same class for 4 years. They are in the same class at church and they both turn 12 in August. I know Connor has always liked her and I also know that Ellie likes him.I really am quite positive that they will get married someday. Connor is never mean to her and he always talks about her with a sparkle in his eye. I think it is so cute!

What's been going on?

ALOT!!

We have been so busy lately but I guess that is not unusual. We like to stay busy but lately I am feeling exhausted. Time to settle down just a little.....

On Saturday I ran my 3rd marathon. I loved it! It was pretty low key and I felt no pressure to go fast and I just enjoyed it. 4 of my friends(Marci, Soila, Marschell and Sonja) did a relay and so I saw them occasionally but other than that I was on my own. The marathon went from Kent to Alki Beach in Seattle. It was amazing! It was a pretty warm day but we also had a nice breeze to go along with it.

This is me as I am coming to the finish! My time was 4 hours and 46 minutes. 3 minutes slower than my first and 9 minutes slower than my second. Oh well, I always have the next one to improve my time.

My parents came to see me finish, which is always amazing. They have been able to come to almost all my races.(Love them!) I was surprised to see Cierra, Brooke, Anna and her kids, and Tiffany and her kids at the finish line. I had no idea they were coming and it was so nice to have them there.

Love you all!!!!!

I had a little incident as we stopped to get some lunch on the way home. I had realized I hadn't eaten anything since 6:30 that morning and after running 26.2 miles that is not very smart. I got really shaky and I came so close to passing out that I thought for sure I was going down. I was able to get my head between my knees and managed to stay upright. I ate my subway and we started to finish our trip home and it happened one more time. We got to a gas station where my mom got me some candy and I starting feeling better. I know I had a super low blood sugar. I learned my lesson. I need to eat right away. I just didn't think about it because most races have a ton of food afterwards and this one did not. I didn't feel hungry so it didn't cross my mind. I will know for next time now!

Connor did track for his school and they had their annual track meet last week as well. Connor participated in the softball throw and the 4 X 100 meter relay! He did awesome and it was fun to watch.

He is officially done with baseball too. He had a great season and really did an amazing job. I loved to go watch his games but sometimes I would get a little stressed. Not sure why, I think I just wanted them to do well.

Didn't get very many pictures this season. There is always next year!

Cierra got an award at the terrific Kids assembly. It was an award for PE. She has improved her mile by 5 minutes. I was very proud of her. I hope she will continue to run. I have found so much joy in it and I hope she can do. She goes to run club once a week and loves going.

And the big news in Brooke's world is that she can finally do the monkey bars. She is so excited and wants to go to the park ALL THE TIME! Next on her list is to loose a tooth and I think that will be coming quick!

Goodbye to Kim!

A good friend of mine moved away last week and we were so sad to see her go. Kim was here only about 10 months, but she was a awesome friend and neighbor and will truly be missed. We had breakfast at the Pancake house(which another one of our neighbors own and you must try if you haven't been there already!) to say goodbye the day before she left. I will stay in touch with her through email and facebook and I promised her I would run a race in Colorado and come see her!

Kim is the one on the left of me holding her little girl, Whitney!:)

Little Si hike

Memorial Day we took a hike with the Lockwood's, the Green's and the Todd's. We went up to Little Si in in North Bend and we managed to stay dry for the most part. It was a great hike for the kids. It was 4.4 miles round trip and all the kids did extremely well. Brooke got a piggy back ride for just a small portion of it but otherwise walked the whole thing. Cierra didn't have one complaint and it was really just a fun little hike.

Connor was the dare devil of course and was always going off the beaten path to find something to climb.

Connor and Jadon at the top taking a little break!

I love my family!

Afterwards we came home and had a barbecue with about 9 families for our neighborhood. Love these 3 day weekends!

Fort Lewis Mud Run

Kaylee and I did a mud run on base with the young men and young women from our ward. It was a lot of fun but a little too muddy for me. Kaylee loved it which I am very surprised. The worse part was getting hosed off at the end with some very high pressured hoses. It was freezing.

The girls before we started:
Kaylee was not shy about getting dirty!

I was not thrilled with this part:Overall we had a great time! I am signed up to do the Warriors Dash in a few months with my sister and I hear it is much worse than this. Should be fun!!!!

Tilllicum Village Field Trip

I was able to go on a field trip with Cierra to Tillicum Village. We(along with her class) took a ferry over to Blake Island where we had a nice sit down lunch of salmon, macaroni and cheese, fruit, corn and bread. It was delicious. The smoked salmon was the best. While we were eating by candlelight we enjoyed quite a show about Indian heritage. It was too dark for pictures of the show but the costumes were really cool. We then walked around the village and on the beach and looked at all the amazing things around the village like the totem poles. The ferry ride back was beautiful and it was fun to do it with two friends, Amber and Kathryn.

Definitely the best field trip I've ever been on.
