November fun!

November has flown by like all the other months in the year 2010. We got some excitement towards the end when the 3 days before thanksgiving the snow came.It was enough to miss a few days of school and have a really long thanksgiving holiday. I don't think anyone was complaining. It was fun to play in it and not have to worry about anything.

This was Sunday night when it just snowed a tiny bit. Enough to get the kids excited but they still had school on Monday, it was just 2 hours late. (except Brooke since she is kindergarten, it was cancelled!)
Then Monday night we got more. We probably got about 6 inches. The kids had fun building many snowmen, playing in it and of course going sledding.

Socks hid out in the winter bag to get warm after being outside in the snow for a few hours!

Sean, Connor, Cierra and Brooke went sledding over at Carson Elementary while Kaylee and I went shopping.(much more fun and warmer too!)

We got together at my parents house for thanksgiving like we do every year. It is always fun and this year was no exception. Kaylee helped in the kitchen peeling potatoes.
Sean and I was trying to get a picture together but we kept having intruders!

My cute parents! they still are so cute after all these years.

My dad is dangerous while he is carving the turkey.

This year my mom made gingerbread cookies for the kids to decorate. Some got a little carried away with the frosting but they enjoyed doing it and it kept them busy for awhile.

My sister and I got our plan of attack ready for Black Friday and headed out at about 8:45 Thanksgiving night to Toys r Us. (My mom decided to stay home since our plan was to stay out pretty much all night.)

I only got these pictures of us waiting in line at toys r us. I'm sure there must have been atleast 2000 people there but luckily we were only about 200th in line and Mindy got what she needed and I got a few small things as well.

It was a little on the chilly side but totally worth it.

After TRU we headed to Walmart where we spent many hours. We then drove by Target and by that time it was raining and I was coming down with a cold so we called it quits and I went home and took some Nyquil and passed out until 10:30 the next morning. I have done Black Friday for 14 straight years. I am thinking I may be giving it up. It was more worth it when the kids were small but now that they are growing up, they all want bigger things and it just may not be worth it. I guess I will see when the ads come out next year. Then I will make that final decision.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kaylee's first basketball game

Kalyee had her first basketball game yesterday at Glacier View. They have about 40 girls on the team so they each played 8 minutes and they had 6 quarters to the game. It is good experience for her and I hope she stays with it. Maybe because basketball is my favorite sport.
She has improved and if she would only stop worrying about what she looks like as she is going down the court, we would be good to go!
I love Kaylee and I am glad she tries things even though she may not be the best at it. She gets up at 4:30 every morning to go to practice with no complaints!

Her friends Paris, Racheal and Ashley!:)

Cierra's special weekend!

It started on Friday when Cierra received an award for perseverance at her school. She was pretty proud of herself and so were we. At her conference her teacher said she is right on target and doing well. She doesn't give up easily and will try anything until she gets it right.
Her friend Phoebe and Nina got an award too and that is who she is sitting next to.

Grandma and Grandpa came to support her too and even though she didn't show it, she loved having them there and getting attention.

Then Saturday morning Sean, myself and Cierra woke up early to drive to Snoqualime for the Turkey trot run she was doing. It was special because it was just the 3 of us. (Kaylee stayed home with Brooke and Connor went with the Gailey's to his soccer game) We met up with the Shakespeare's, the Conner's, the Nelson's and the Baker's) Cierra started a running club that my friend Tiffany is doing. It has been so perfect for her. It is something she is excited to do and loves it. They meet once a week to practice. They go over the running part of it but also the nutrition part of it. They ran the 1k and now they will be training for a 5k. I can't wait to run that one with her. She told me that when she grows up she wants to be a runner like me. (I hope that is true!)

Jamie, Cierra, Brynnley, Hallie
Lindsey, Kennedi, Natalie, and Kylie

Pre-race warm up! (We love you Tiffany! Your such a great coach!)

almost to the finish line!
She earned the metal and flower!

I have to mention my awesome friend Anna!-She ran the 5k and did an amazing job. She always amazes me but today she really did. She ran the 5k in 21 minutes and 22 seconds. That is a pace of 6:53. That is pretty much sprinting and the course wasn't flat either. Great Job Anna! I may never be as fast as you but I will always try my hardest for you!!!

After the race Cierra went to her friends Birthday party at the YMCA where she had a lot of fun. Today she had her primary program where she sang songs and recited her part without flaw. Now we are heading to her Activity Day recognition night. It will just be the 3 of us again to make it more special to her.
This girl of mine can test my patience beyond belief but she is TOTALLY worth it. I love you Cierra "boogie woogie"!

October Fun!

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins a few days before Halloween. Usually I like to do it the weekend before halloween but time flies when your having fun and we having been having lots of fun lately! Not really. Just really busy!

Sean usually takes this project on and I am happy to let him. Brooke won't touch the inside of her pumpkin so he does that for her. She tells him what to carve and he does that too. Kaylee, Connor and Cierra didn't get any help and they turned out perfect. Me, being the perfect mother that I am made 2 mistakes this Halloween season. 1. I did not take a final picture of Cierra's pumpkin and she is not letting me forget it.(go figure!) 2. I did not take one picture of Connor in his Halloween costume.(he is the sweetest boy ever and has forgiven me!)

This year for our annual Halloween party we dressed up as mobsters, gangsters, Bonnie and Clyde, whatever you want to call us. It was a lot of fun.
We went with Richard Simmons fans! (the baby did not come with us!:))
Me and Cute Racheal! (that fox or whatever it was around her neck was really scary!)

I've been coaching Kaylee's church volleyball team and we have a ton of fun. The last game is this Saturday but don't worry, I won't get too bored because basketball season will be here and I am coaching that too. Yah!-kind of.......

This year our ward did a carnival and a trunk or treat. The kids loved playing the games and eating the food. Kaylee was in charge of pumpkin bowling and she did a great job. She of course had Ashley to help her.
We brought Hannah and Haylie, our neighbors and friends.

This is Brooke's church teachers. They had the best costumes ever!~

of course, we had to go trick or treating and get MORE candy!

Cierra had to organize her candy in piles. She is so like her father!:)

Brooke is not a big chocolate fan so she gave most of hers away but she still got enough to make her happy!

A couple weeks ago, Sean and I went to a Murder Mystery dinner with some friends. It was a lot of fun and I was just glad I wasn't the murderer. I would have felt so bad. I was the hippie half sister and Sean was some croquet champion that liked to date older (70+) women!

Can you guess who did it? I knew it all along!

The end of the night and I had already taken off my wig. I threw it on for the picture. Not my best hair day!

October is gone and now it is already well into November. Where does time go?
