Kaylee and Connor's Violin concert at Stahl

On Tuesday night Kaylee and Connor had their final concert at Stahl Junior high where they go twice a week for orchestra. You can really tell they improved and it was fun to watch. Kaylee's friend, Brittany came with us. I know Kaylee will continue to play the violin but not sure how much Connor is digging it. He says he like it but he doesn't seem to in to it. I will let him decide if he wants to play next year before I buy him his own violin. Right now they are sharing one since they go on opposite days.(we borrowed for the concert-Thanks Amy!)

What Connor's been doing lately....

Connor is playing for a new team this year and is so far having a lot of fun. He is playing for the Red Sox. The team has mostly older kids on it and Connor is by far the smallest one but has been holding is own on the field and with the bat. He plays 3rd base most of the time but sometime he will play left field.

He loves to eat sunflower seeds like the rest of the team and that is what he is doing in this first picture.

Connor always lets the first pitch go by and then looks at the umpire to see what he is going to call. I think he would rather walk than try to hit it but he has gotten a few hits too.

Here are Connor's greatest fans, even though they would rather play in the dirt or play on the toys but every once in awhile they will watch their big brother play.
When Connor is not playing baseball, he is training to be on his new favorite show, Minute to win it. He has his belt around his head holding a pedometer to see how many times he can shake his head in a minute. You'd have to see the show to understand the madness. He may just be the next contestant so make sure you catch it on Sunday nights!:)

Cierra's teacher adventure day!

Yesterday Cierra stayed after school yesterday to do her Teacher Adventure Day. (At the school auction a few weeks ago I won this for Cierra and she was beyond excited) She was able to choose 2 friends, which were her good friends, Maegan and Phoebe and stay after school to have pizza with her teacher Mrs. Hua. Mrs. Hua also brought her puppies and they dressed them up and played with them. They had a lot of fun. Afterwards the girls came over to play. It was a great day for our "Goof Troop" as daddy would say!

This is what happens when your husband becomes a traveling man!

Why he thinks we need every last sample, I'm still not sure but we will never run out of soap, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, sewing kits or shower caps again!

Too funny!

I stole this off my friend Marci's blog because I thought it was so funny. I'm still laughing. Hope you think it is funny too:

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day, picked out a box of tampons and proceeded to the checkout counter.
The man at the counter asked the older boy, "Son, how old are you?"
"Eight," the boy replied.
The man continued, "do you know what these are used for?"
The boy replied, "not exactly, but they aren't for me.
They're for him. He's my brother. He's four.
We saw on TV that if you use these you would be able to swim and ride a bike. Right now, he can't do either."

Thanks for the laugh Marci!

Catch up time!

Well, needless to say blogging has been the last thing on my mind lately. Just when I thought I couldn't get any busier, I do. I don't know how that happens but it always does. I think now that I am done coaching Cierra's basketball team and Connor is done playing basketball and only playing baseball, I think life may settle a little....probably not though!

I am about half way done in my training for my marathon which is exhausting and fun all at the same time. This week I will have to do my farthest run yet, which is 17 miles. We are going to run on the Orting trail so at least we will have different scenery. Should be interesting since I also have a basketball game that day. I will be ready to crash after the game is over.

Connor's first baseball game is on Wednesday. Looking forward to watching him play. It is keeping him busy with practices and 2-3 games a week. He is playing for the Red Sox.

Sean has been traveling a lot with work. He is usually gone 1-2 weeks every month. I am finally getting used to it and I think I handle it pretty well now. He was gone over Spring break but he came home for Easter weekend and just left again this morning. He is gone 2 weeks in May and then who knows. We are just grateful he has a job so whatever he has to do, is ok with us!

About 3 weeks ago we were able to go to Utah for Aaron(Sean's nephews) wedding. It was a lot of fun to see all his family and get away for a few days with Sean. Mindy watched the kids which I am extremely grateful, although payback is coming when they go to Hawaii for a week and I have their kids.

While we were in Utah we got to meet Blake's fiance, Megan. She is super cute and sweet and we really like her. They will be married August 7th and we are looking forward to going back for their wedding. (can you believe it? I could be a step-grandma soon, although they say they won't be having children anytime soon. Didn't we all say that?)

Beautiful girl-Janna
Sean and his 2 children he is very proud of:)
We love going to Utah and were happy to see all of Sean's family. We also got to See Wayne and Lois but I didn't get a good picture. We went to Jeremiah's with them like always and had some great pancakes. They are coming to visit in May and we are so excited since they haven't been here in about 10 years!!

On Thursday night we colored eggs since Sean was still out of town and that is not his favorite thing to do. I thought I would spare him the craziness. He was glad and I was happy to get it over with. The kids enjoy it and I guess that is all that matters. I forgot to get a final picture of the eggs and then we made deviled eggs out of them yesterday so now there gone. Oh well, they were pretty so use your imagination:)

My second daughter, Ashley spent the night with Kaylee, so she helped too.

On Friday we took a day and went with the Grendell's out to Poulsbo where we went to her Grandmas property and fed the Llamas. It was fun but a little wet and rainy. We will have to go back when it is a little warmer and drier.

We then went to an Aquarium they had in town which was fun for the kids.

After the aquarium we went to Stellas and had some yummy Italian food. Then we went to Bainbridge Island to go to their local pool. This was the highlight for the kids. They have a fun waterslide, a lazy river, and a rope swing. We swam for 2 1/2 hours and then headed home in the pouring rain and wind. We were a little nervous that the Tacoma Narrows bridge was going
to be closed but we made it over and got home about 8pm.
Thanks to the Grendell's for a fun day! Can't wait to do it again in the summer!

Yesterday was Easter and the Easter Bunny did not disappoint the Elwell home. The kids got a basket full of goodies and eggs hidden all over.

This is Brooke when she isn't quite awake!
Some little bunny went throughout our whole neighborhood and left eggs for all the kids. It was a lot of fun!

Cute girls!

It was nice this Easter since it was General Conference too. After watching Conference we went to my mom and dad's and had a delicious dinner of ribs, potato salad, rolls, salad and asparagus. It was yummy! We also had a Easter egg hunt and the kids got money and more candy.

Brooke got a 30 second head start since she is the "baby" as her daddy would say!

I was so happy to spend Easter with my family. Sean was able to be home for Easter and we all had a great time. While he was home I also managed to have him repaint Connor's room and set up a TV stand for his room. We got him a new bedspread and his room looks like brand new. He was very happy since his room has been a little neglected lately.
I will try to update my blog more often so it won't take me an hour to do it. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!:)
Love the Elwell's
